Vaccination Tracking

Patients will see multiple healthcare providers throughout their lifetime, leading to multiple medical records and potentially missed information such as missing vaccination records.

The CDC recommends participating in an immunization information system (IIS), or immunization registry. Immunization information systems consolidate immunization information from different sources into a single, official immunization record. IIS can also:

  • Easily verify immunizations for new patients
  • Provide official immunization records
  • Track patient’s immunization status and notify the provider when an immunization is due

The participation in an IIS ensures timely immunizations, consolidation of records, and allows providers to work more efficiently.
